Tips For Business Automation And Why Manual Marketing Does Not Always Work

Creating a business strategy for the upcoming year is one of the things each business owner should put their minds into at the end of a year. One of the most important aspects of a business' success relies deeply on the way the business owner is able to evaluate their year's activity: was it a good year from the point of view of scalability? How are they leveraging their time and increasing their profits? Did they achieve their realistic goals?
For every online marketing strategy, entrepreneurs need to keep in view some tips for scalable marketing and one thing they should understand is the real potential of manual marketing.
What is manual marketing?
The practice is called 'manual' because it requires a person's constant effort. It includes practices such as cold calling and one to one meetings with prospects and clients. While this practice may turn out to be a profitable one, its main disadvantage is that it is not scalable. Thus, those who do their marketing in a manual way, have no way of knowing if their efforts are paying off - so they are spending large amounts of time without having clear statistics on the efficacity of their method.
How to automate a business
The best thing nowadays is to look for ways to automate a business, especially on the marketing side. But many business owners refuse to do this mostly because they are not familiar with the new online practices. The internet offers a ide variety of software people can use to save time - these programs give people the chance to focus on the really important aspects of their business, thus avoiding to be caught up in manual tasks.
1. Using autoresponders
These are tools which are being used especially in e-mail marketing campaigns. Instead of sending e-mails manually, people can set up certain categories and send the e-mails to the category of their choice.
Some of the most popular e-mail marketing software are Aweber and Office AutoPilot.
2. Continuous gain of knowledge
Although it might seem a cliche, staying up to date with everything that happens within a niche is crucial for the existence and success of any business. Creating a business strategy from scratch is extremely difficult, but having the right books which provide valuable information on this topic, for example, can prove to be an asset that is hard to equal.
So, one tip for the savvy business owners who want to find out how to automate their business is to search for some books on this topic. When used properly, all the information extracted from a solid bibliography can prove to be gold in the right hands. People can use it to attract an audience, to build a database and then to educate their prospects so that when time comes and they need a service, they know who to go to for that particular service.
All in all, keep in mind that while manual marketing is a valid technique, it is not always a good solution. Try to search for tips for business automation and save some time that can be used to improve a company from other points of view.

No More Groundhog Day (or Year)

By

Expert Author Sandi L Gordon
12-12-12. It's interesting that this is the last time we'll see a repeating date like this, isn't it? And what a cool birthday it's gonna' be for babies born on that day.
This made me think about how we repeat dates ourselves. At the beginning of each new year, we make resolutions for ourselves or our businesses that somehow this year will be the one where we make all kinds of changes, where we get out of a "Groundhog Day" type of living.
But we often don't make those changes... at least not sustainably.
Ready to have a different day? How about a different year?
This is the first of a 10-part blog series for Anti-Groundhog Day living - welcome!
Step 1: Look at what you've accomplished over the last year.
Most of us are really good at remembering what went wrong, rather than what went right for us. When I ask my clients, "How was the last year for you?" most of them say they're glad it's done!
Think about the last time you were recognized for what you did, when you felt appreciated. I would bet it wasn't YOU who recognized or appreciated what you've accomplished;-). Think about a day when you had a huge to-do list. You checked off 90% of the list. What did you say to yourself? "YAY, ME!" or "Gee, look at what I have left to do:-(." If you sort of beat yourself up, you're certainly not alone. Most of us say the latter.
So today, I'd like you to spend just a few minutes remembering all the good from the last year - everything you accomplished - everything you're proud of. (Hint: look at your calendar for ideas... )
It can be a small accomplishment ("I cleaned out my closets and donated extra clothing to a shelter) or ("I finally can work with Mr. Scrooge") or a big accomplishment ("I started a new business and am helping more and more people every month, while making more money.")
To spark ideas, ask yourself the following questions:
  • Did I save any money?
  • Did I volunteer?
  • Did I launch a new product?
  • Did I build a relationship?
  • Did I resolve a conflict?
  • Did I encourage anyone?
  • Was I grateful?
  • Did I read any books and apply anything from them?
  • Did I attend any conferences/training?
  • Did I achieve business goals?
  • Did I earn any extra money?
  • Did I make any investments?
  • Did I help a friend?
  • Did I help my family?
  • Did I work out?
  • Did I advance my career or business?
  • Did I find ways to reduce stress?
  • Did I connect with more people?
  • Did I deepen my faith?
  • Did I help my community?
Write down at least 12 accomplishments over the last year (OK, that's only one a month.) And if you think of more than 12, write them down, too! No limits:-)
We are not used to recognizing ourselves, but give it a try and see what you come up with. I promise it'll be worth it - this exercise is really a LOT of fun!
So there you have it, the first step to Anti-Groundhog Day living for 2013:-) The next step is coming up next week.
Share a couple of your accomplishments in the comments below - we'd love to hear!
My top two:
<3 Connecting heart-to-heart with 200 more people.
<3 Helping a client make significant changes in her life - including making more money and establishing healthy boundaries in her relationships.
Hugs for a #HappierYear!
